Reality Browser for Android and the Droid Incredible is an augmented reality application that overlays relevant digital data on your camera’s viewfinder. Let’s say you point it at a Pizza joint. Reality Browser will immediately pull up all the relevant information about that particular Pizza joint – reviews, ratings, hours of operation, and even menus and pricing. Reality Browser uses your Droid Incredible’s internal compass, gps, and other features to figure out where you are pointing your camera!
This Droid Incredible app also has a cool radar view that shows points of interest as points on a radar-like screen. This way you know where to point your camera to get more detailed information about specific places. Reality Browser depends on you installing various layers depending on what kind of information you want to see. For the Pizza joint example above, the Yelp layer is what you would use. If you’re a real-estate agent, there’s a layer that pulls up rental prices, availability and other details if you point your camera at various apartments.
