Dropbox
The much-awaited Dropbox app for Android is here. It was available as a beta for a few select users until recently, but it has now hit the Market for wider use. Dropbox is a popular online service that helps you backup your computers and mobile devices and have them sync with each other so that your most important files are available across all your computing devices, and online as well. The service offers free and premium options and this free Droid app works with both options. The app works with your existing apps to open any files in your Dropbox app – so if you have Documents To Go, you can just tap on the relevant file and it’ll open in DTG.
The interface is dead simple to use – it’s basically a list of your files, after all. The app makes it easy to share photos and files with your friends and family. When you want to share a file, it’ll create a link to the file via its online service and you can then share the link and let people download the file. Uploading can be a little slow for larger files such as PDFs or high-resolution image files, but that’s really not the app’s fault. You can manually refresh the contents to see any changes applied. An excellent Droid app that will leave help you access all your important files from anywhere.
