SlideScreen is a home-replacement app that combines and presents all your information in an easy-to-digest and innovative viewing interface. This clever app lets you see all your social-networking streams right on your Droid Incredible’s homescreen. In addition to automatically pulling in and refreshing your data from Twitter, Facebook, and other social sites, the app will present your Gmail, text messages, phone calls, appointments, stock portfolio, and RSS feeds via Google Reader. Each of these are kept fresh and ready with no intervention necessary on your part. You can also track more than one Gmail accounts with SlideScreen.
The interface is very clever and may take a bit of using before you are totally comfortable with it. While a lot of information is presented on the screen, you can swipe a vertical “window” that zooms in on your data based on what’s underneath it on the homescreen. You can even interact with your information via this interface, or tap into the relevant app to do more in-depth stuff. There are a host of little tips and tricks you can use to get more out of SlideScreen. And while the app does slow down the launch of the homescreen a little bit, it’s well worth the wait. Overall, this is an innovative approach to managing the increasing deluge of information we are all subscribed to, and the app will improve your experience on the Droid Incredible.
